The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) successfully sold $116 million of the 2015 Subseries C-1 and C-2 fixed-rate bonds on Wednesday, July 22. CHFA received over $266 million of orders for the bonds, proceeds from the sale of the bonds will be used to finance the Authority’s single-family mortgage program. The remaining $45 million in variable-rate bonds, for a total issue of $161 million in bonds, will be sold by the August 6, 2015 closing.

the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) and the Connecticut Housing Coalition, a NLIHC state partnerouH, released the findings of a state-wide public opinion poll that measured Connecticut registered voter support for changing the mortgage interest deduction, addressing homelessness, and creating more affordable housing. A majority of registered Connecticut voters surveyed expressed support for increasing federal funding for affordable housing to address homelessness; about half stated that Connecticut has not developed an adequate range of housing choices to meet the needs of all people in the state. Malloy today announced that the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) will award $7 million to 12 brownfield redevelopment and assessment projects across the state, including $5.4 million to four remediation and redevelopment projects and $1.5 million to eight projects for assessment and investigation.
