The Buy America rule already passed in the Senate version of the bill with broad bipartisan support, but it has been pulled from the compromise package reached between leaders in the Senate and U.S. House of Representatives

Representative Joe Courtney (CT-02) announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued its final rule to establish a new Eastern Long Island Sound Dredged Material Disposal Site (ELDS). Courtney has long advocated for the establishment of the site to meet validated long term dredging needs for eastern Connecticut and support the region’s maritime economy.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy is congratulating the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) for earning the Grand Prize at the 2016 America’s Transportation Awards competition in recognition of the agency’s successful work on creating the new Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that MICHELLE LEFAOSEU, also known as “Michelle Bennett,” “Michelle Lee” and “Michelle Page,” 42, of Huntington Beach, Calif., was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 12 months and one day of imprisonment, followed by one year of supervised release, for participating in an extensive mortgage loan modification scheme.

Deirdre M. Daly, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that VICTOR CUEVAS, 52, of Bristol, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer in New Haven to one year of probation and a $1,000 fine for conspiring with others to commit bank fraud in connection with his home mortgage loan applications

With help from this grant, the Janus Center will provide shelter and homelessness prevention and intervention services to 1,200 male, female and transgender runaway, homeless and street youth under the age of 18 from Bridgeport, Stratford, Fairfield, Trumbull, Monroe and Easton.

Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02) released new information on his efforts to assist homeowners in northeastern Connecticut with crumbling foundations. On Wednesday, Courtney met with the Capital Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) to discuss his recent determination that federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) could be used to assist homeowners.
