Five Rules For Getting The Best Deal
======================
Negotiation has always been considered to be an art. However, all of us can benefit from learning good negotiation skills to save money. Here are five rules of thumb when negotiating for almost any service. Remember, it never hurts to ask for a discount. How you ask that will make the difference!

1. Negotiate with the boss, not the staff. With the contractor/owner, not the paid employee. You will get heard when you go to the top
2. Know your bottom line, what you are willing to pay before you start talking
3. Offer to pay in cash instead of credit, if you have the cash you will generally get a discount
4. Barter for something that someone else wants from you. Got a skill that would help another? Trade services to get what you both want
5. Never undercut someone’s services to where you offend them. Always respect the other party
