New Haven, CT – March 15, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro (CT-3) applauded the renewal of $423,581 in funding for three Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance programs in Connecticut’s 3rd District.

Awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance grants help to provide assistance to homeless individuals, as well as address the underlying causes of homeless, such as physical, economic and social needs. These funds will help to ensure that the programs recognized today, Birmingham Health Services and Columbus House, are able to continue providing the housing and service programs needed in their communities.

“Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance grants play a vital role in helping to improve the lives of homeless individuals in our communities by providing stable housing and the assistance they need to get off the streets. These grants will help both Birmingham Group Health Services and Columbus House to continue their good work in helping our homeless populations,” said Congresswoman DeLauro. “I am very pleased with these grants, and look forward to what I am sure will be positive results.”

The grants in Connecticut’s 3rd District were awarded to:
