One New Foreclosure Filing for Every 879 U.S. Households, Activity Remains High
Foreclosure listing activity across the nation remained at a high level in the month of July 2007. The total number of properties either entering or moving through some stage of the foreclosure process was 131,574 or one foreclosure for every 879 households in the U.S.According to data compiled by Bargain Network (bargain.com), an online provider of real estate foreclosures, the number of residential homes either entering or moving from one stage of foreclosure showed little movement.
Home sales down, but prices up
Connecticut home prices rose for the second straight month in May, but sales sank 14 percent, The Warren Group reported Tuesday. The state's median price for single-family homes was $288,000 in May, up 5 percent from $275,000 a year ago. Through the first five months of the year, the statewide median price rose 2 percent from a year ago, from $270,000 to $275,000.
Luxury condos not luring buyers yet
FAIRFIELD — Seven years ago, Southport Village Partners, LLC paid $5.28 million for 4.4 acres near the Southport Railroad Station. The vacant property, across from Wakeman Boys/Girls Club, was sold in an auction in the town's Probate Court by the estate of Frank Dawid.
