Lieberman Applauds More Than $125,000 for Green Building Training in Connecticut

WASHINGTON, DC - November 18, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today praised the release of $129,827 to two Connecticut corporations to help individuals acquire the skills needed to enter and advance in a clean energy economy. The grants will be used for green building training programs in Hartford and Bridgeport. The funds were released by the U.S. Department of Labor as a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Senator Looney says environmental legislation will boost jobs, economic development in New Haven and across Connecticut. October 5, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — A measure included in one of the budget implementer bills passed by the state legislature will help stimulate economic development in New Haven and elsewhere while also preserving the environment, says Senate Majority Leader Martin M. Looney (D-New Haven). The legislation establishes a maximum $25 million tax credit for taxpayers who build buildings that meet specific energy and environmental standards.

WASHINGTON, DC - September 24, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today praised the release of $9,445,758 in Recovery Act funding to create new affordable rental housing and increase the energy efficiency of existing public and low income housing. These funds were distributed to five municipalities across the state giving them the resources to install new energy efficient technologies to conserve energy, such as Energy Star appliances, high-efficiency boilers/furnaces and programmable thermostats or controls.
