WASHINGTON, DC - August 26, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today praised the release of $43,791,192 for upgrades and improvements to Connecticut’s railroad infrastructure in New Haven and on the Danbury and Shoreline East Lines and $16 million for the development of affordable housing units across the state. The railroad grants will be used to build a new rail repair shop for the New Haven line, for an improved safety signal system on the Danbury Branch line, and for the expansion of the parking facilities at the Branford Railroad Station. These grants were released by the Department of Transportation as a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
